A dual-mode systemic fungicide combining curative and preventive action. Stops existing fungal infections while protecting healthy tissue from new disease spread — essential for high-value vegetable and fruit crops.
Look for water-soaked lesions, white powdery growth, or brown leaf spots. Systemic Fungicide Plus is most effective against oomycete diseases like late blight and downy mildew. For powdery mildew, consider a sulphur-based fungicide instead.
Dissolve 20–25 g per 10 litres of water. Add the powder to half-full water tank, stir well, then top up. The mix turns milky — this is normal. Use immediately; do not store mixed solution.
For prevention, start spraying at first signs of wet/humid weather favourable to disease (early morning fog, rainy periods). For curative use, apply as soon as symptoms are first observed — do not wait for widespread infection.
Cover all leaf surfaces completely, including undersides where spores germinate. Use a fine mist setting and spray until just before runoff. Canopy size determines volume — use 200–400 L/ha.
Repeat every 7–10 days during high disease pressure periods (rainy season, heavy dew). In dry seasons, intervals can extend to 14 days. Maximum 4 applications per season.
Rinse sprayer thoroughly after use — Mancozeb residue can be corrosive to metal parts. Store unused product sealed in original container in a cool, dry place. Shelf life: 2 years from manufacture date.
Metalaxyl penetrates plant tissue systemically; Mancozeb forms a protective surface barrier — two modes work together for complete cover.
Once dried the spray film resists wash-off during light rain, maintaining effectiveness through Tanzania's heavy short-rain season.
Approved for tomatoes, potatoes, onions, grapes, and most leafy vegetables at standard application rates.
Metalaxyl component can arrest fungal growth up to 48 hours after infection — effective even after symptoms appear.
WP (Wettable Powder) formulation provides more active ingredient per gram compared to emulsifiable concentrates at equivalent price.
Healthy foliage free of disease maintains photosynthesis efficiency — directly linked to fruit size, weight, and marketable yield.
