A contact fungicide for fast surface protection against a broad range of foliar diseases. Easy to apply with quick-drying formulation that forms a durable protective film on leaf surfaces. Ideal for vegetable growers and smallholders looking for a reliable, affordable disease shield.
Foliar Disease Protector works as a surface barrier — it prevents spores from germinating on the leaf but cannot cure existing infections. Begin applications before disease symptoms appear, especially at the start of humid or rainy weather.
Shake the bottle well. Add 15–20 mL per 10 litres of water. The solution will appear milky-grey — this is the suspended concentrate. Stir continuously while filling the sprayer to prevent settling.
Spray both leaf surfaces — upper and lower. The protective film must be present where spores land. A fine mist is more effective than coarse droplets for uniform coverage. Aim for 300–400 L/ha for dense canopy crops.
Apply when no rain is expected for at least 4 hours. Spray in the morning after dew has dried. Wind speeds should be below 10 km/h. Avoid spraying during the hottest part of the day — leaf pores close in heat and absorption is reduced.
Repeat every 7–14 days depending on disease pressure and weather. In heavy rainy season, spray every 7 days. During drier periods, 14-day intervals are sufficient. Maximum 6 applications per season.
Rinse sprayer with clean water after every use. Chlorothalonil can leave a grey residue — a brief soak in a citric acid solution (1 tsp per 10L) helps clean the nozzle screen. Wear gloves and eye protection during cleanup.
Effective against 40+ fungal pathogens including Alternaria, Cercospora, Botrytis, and early blight — one product for multiple disease threats.
SC (Suspension Concentrate) formulation dries fast and resists washoff. Effective protection is maintained even after light showers within 30 minutes of application.
At $31 for 250 mL treating approximately 1.25 hectares, it is one of the most affordable broad-spectrum fungicides available per hectare treated.
Registered for tomatoes, onions, carrots, potatoes, cabbages, beans, and many export vegetables. One product fits multiple crop rotations.
Multi-site mode of action (inhibits multiple fungal enzyme pathways simultaneously) — fungal resistance development is very rare with chlorothalonil.
SC formulation holds active ingredient in stable suspension, ensuring the same dose every time with no clumping or settling that can occur in wettable powder products.
